Zelo Glossary

This glossary defines common terms that you might see as you're working in Zelo, or throughout our Help Center.

A

Attributes

An attribute is a collection of attribute terms. It is custom for each account. E.g. an attribute is "role" and attribute terms can be "account manager", "developer" and "customer success".

Advice

Highlighting optimal use trends.

Audience

Audience is a collection of recipients that will receive a Zelo.

Audience filter

Audience filter uses attributes and attribute terms to filter recipients into an audience.

Audience selection

Audience selection is a group of audience filters.

All audience

Data for all recipients in an account.

Bounced emails

Emails that not exist and therefore can't receive Zelos.

Categories

Zelos can be added to categories and used to sort them by recipients.

Channel

Channels refers to sending channels. E.g. email, Slack, text, etc.

Completed

A recipient has gone through all steps and completed a Zelo.

Consent step

A step type where recipients have to make one or more consents before completing a Zelo.

Content

Content is referred to as a collection of steps where admin users can compose messages, add videos, questions, files, etc.

Dashboard

Data visualization of progress, content, demographics, etc. for all Zelos and recipients in an account.

Demographics

A dashboard page showing demographic information.

Department

A portal for managers to see and manage a subset of recipients.

Draft

A Zelo that is not ready to send.

Email suffix

Domain name for recipient's emails in the account.

Feedback step

A step type where recipients can write a text response.

Folders

Folders for organizing Zelos.

Global audience

Data for all recipients on the Zelo platform. Available in the main dashboard.

Invitation step

A step type where recipients responds to an invite.

Mobile

Mobile describes that a Zelo is opened at a mobile device, such as a smart phone, iPod Touch, etc.

Opened

A recipient has opened a Zelo.

Preview content

Preview content displays the Zelo content while composing.

Q

Question steps

A collection of single choice, scale and feedback steps.

R

Recipient

A user that can be included in an audience and receive Zelos.

Reminder

Resending a Zelo to a recipient that hasn't completed it.

Region

A filter that allows an admin users to limit dashboard and Zelos statistics to only show data for selected recipients.

Report

An Excel-report that can be downloaded for each Zelo.

Received

An email has reached the recipient's email server, and is marked as delivered.

Setup steps for Zelo

The step to complete before sending out a Zelo

Scale step

A step type where recipients can give a 1-5 scale response.

Schedule

Schedule a Zelo to be sent in the future.

Single choice step

A step type where recipients can select an option out of given alternatives.

Slack

Integration with Slack as a sending channel for Zelos.

Status

Referred to as a status for a Zelo that can be draft, sent, scheduled, etc.

Table of contents

A step type for listing other steps in a Zelo and linking to them.

Text and image step

A step type that can contain text and images.

Test step

A step type that can contain a set of multiple choice questions, where a recipient needs a certain test score to pass the test and be marked as completed.

A step type that can embed videos.

Workplace

Integration with Workplace as a sending channel for Zelos.
